The AStA offers students a whole range of different advisory services in the form of departments.  If you don’t know which contact person to turn to, then you’ve come to the right place. The AStA office is the first contact point for all students who are looking for advice, information or a specific contact person.

During our opening hours you can not only come by to ask specific questions, but also to browse through our wide range of free flyers, books and magazines in the entrance area. There you will also find a bulletin board for job and housing offers.

In detail, the office is responsible for:

  • Providing initial information and forwarding to appropriate contact points

  • Administration of the Freiraum

  • Activation of submitted events

  • Display of flyers and posters

  • Odering office supplies for student bodies

  • Correction of  protocols

  • Administration of the online bulletin board

  • Ticket sales for AStA fetes

  • Mail acceptance and collection

  • Lending of ANC headphones

Mini-FAQ

  • First of all, the AStA does not send out circular mails or newsletters!
  • You can easily advertise your event on our website. To do this, you need to fill out a small application in the section Submit Event. The completed application will be checked and activated by us after receipt.
  • If you are interested in a post on social media, please contact our Publications & Social Media Department.
  • Flyers (maximum 20) & posters (1 to 2) can be handed in at the office during our opening hours. We will display the flyers in the entrance area, posters will be displayed either in front of the AStA building or in the Freiraum at the Campus Center.
  • Student bodies and accredited student organizations can also use the power connection of the Freiraum to run information booths and distribute flyers.
  • Furthermore, you can use the bulletin board in the Mensa (building D 4.1) or their online bulletin board to draw attention to your offer.
  • If you would like to enter into a partnership with the AStA, act as a sponsor, publish advertisements in the AStA magazine Champus and the study guide, or place advertisements in the freshman bags, please contact our Finance Department.
  • The AStA orders office supplies through Office Discount without exception!
  • Please sort out the materials you need on the website and send us a list with the links to the items to sekretariat@asta.uni-saarland.de.
  • Important: On Office Discount you will only see the net value of the products, the VAT will be added at the time of purchase. Therefore, make sure that your order does not exceed the student council budget!
  • Please note that the AStA only accepts orders with a value of 50 Euros or more.
  • In addition, your request must be approved by our accounting department before you can make a purchase. They will check if there is enough budget for the office supplies. Accordingly, it makes sense not to make your request at the last minute!
  • You will receive an e-mail from us as soon as the material has been ordered and is ready for collection at the office.
  • The material receipt must be signed upon collection.

If you would like to visit us in person, you should consider our rest days 2022. Otherwise, you can reach us by phone or in person only during our opening hours.

Please be patient if a consultant takes a little longer to respond to your message. Please keep in mind that our consultants are students themselves and only work and answer mails during their office hours.
