Since the 2009/2010 season, the AStA and the Saarländische Staatstheater have had a contract that allows all students at Saarland University to go to the theatre free of charge.
The cooperation offer applies to all three venues of the Staatstheater – Großes Haus, Alte Feuerwache and sparte4 – as well as to all symphony concerts in the Congresshalle.
Who pays for it?
The AStA pays a flat rate to the Staatstheater per enrolled student so that you can go to the theatre free of charge.

From three days before the performance date of your choice, you will receive a free theatre ticket at the advance booking office upon presentation of your student ID and the currently valid certificate of matriculation (listener status: “Haupthörer”).
Please note that it is not possible to select or reserve a seat for the free theatre tickets; you will receive your ticket according to availability. The best thing to do is to go in person to the box office and pick up your tickets directly. However, if you want to reserve a specific seat, you can do so earlier than three days before the performance, but then you will have to pay a fee of 5 Euros for this ticket.
